CARMINE here and I'm a 3 year old Boxer boy. I was named after a famous gangster. While I'm 110% boxer, I'm on the smaller side for a guy..about 50 pounds. So, if you are looking for a hunk like me that is more on the petite side, then I'm your guy.
I was lost on the streets of Houston and was taken to the local SPCA. While I was lost the vet thinks I had a run-in with a car because I have some road rash on my back hips & the top of my head. It also seems that at some point, I had a fracture in my leg. It is all healed now, and I walk just fine, but whoever adopts me probably shouldn't want me to run with them for miles at the park. I'll be more of a walking kind of dog.
As for some of my missing fur, it is possible that my missing fur might not grow back but that doesn't bother me because I know I'm still handsome & I have a great personality!
Also, while I was out on the streets, I was attacked by another dog. I have some wounds that needed to be stitched up but they are healing well. Even though some dog or dogs have been mean to me, I still get along with all the other dogs in my foster home. (There are 5 of them!)
The vet said I have a light case of heartworms. This is easily treated by taking Heartgard every month which all dogs in Texas need to take anyway. This should make them go away in a couple of months.
Can I tell you what I REALLY love? Car rides & toys! I like to gather up all the toys in the house for myself and sleep with them! I am crate trained and house broken.
Do you want to know what my foster mom says about me? She said I'm very calm and sweet. She said I like to give lots of kisses and cuddles. I haven't shown any food agression, no fighting over toys or my bed. I play well with my foster siblings too. She also thinks I get along well with children but you would have to be careful to make sure they don't fall on my tender leg.
